Understanding Different Bang Styles

Bangs can be a great addition to any haircut and can be a fun way to add drama to your hairstyle without changing your color or texture. Yet, like with any haircut, you want to find a bang style that complements the shape of your face. Ask your hairstylist about these styles:

Beautiful Bangs

Blunt Cut

For a truly dramatic look, consider blunt cut bangs. Cut straight across either just below the brow or just above it, blunt cut bangs provide a bold aesthetic. As an added bonus, blunt bangs work with all hair lengths. Flat iron them after showering to achieve the full effect.

If blunt cut bangs aren’t your style, opt instead for asymmetrical bangs. Create an intentionally uneven look with edgy bang layers. Asymmetrical bangs work best with medium length hairstyles.

Face Framing

Face framing bangs work with the shape of your face to highlight your facial features. Face framing bangs work particularly well for individuals with oval faces. Ask your hairstylist to trim your bangs just below the eyebrows, drawing focus to your eyes. Also ask him or her to texture the ends. Doing so will allow them to look freshly cut for longer.

Side Swept

Side swept bangs are created by cutting a long, sweeping layer that falls across the face. Side swept bangs are styled by sweeping most of your hair to one side and leaving just a small amount on the other side. The side swept look is a great option if you are in the process of growing your bangs out.

For a light and whimsical look, ask your hairstylist to cut wispy bangs. Longer at the sides of your face and shorter in the middle, wispy bangs look great with long hair. They can be used to make a haircut look less severe.
